Nikos Nagopoulos completed his studies in Sociology and Sociolinguistics at the University of Heidelberg. From 2014 to 2016 he taught “Sociology of Knowledge” and “Contemporary Sociological Theory” at the Department of Sociology of the University of Vienna, where he was also involved in research at the Lazarsfeld Archive for the Social Sciences. He has also taught as a Visiting Professor at the Department of Sociology at the University of Innsbruck (2015–2016), at the Department of Political Science at the University of Salerno, at the European University Cyprus, as well as at the Universities of Kiel and Bethlehem in the West Bank (Palestine, 2018–2019). He is currently Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of the Aegean and serves as course coordinator and director of postgraduate programs. Ηe has obtained certified training from the Hellenic Centre for Intercultural Knowledge and has participated in social research on the living conditions and labour market relations of disadvantaged population groups. He has also worked as an independent academic expert for the Ministries of Labour in Greece and Cyprus, in the field of the design and application of social scientific knowledge and research for the formulation and implementation of social and employment policy.
